On the evening of August 4, Xie Jianhui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of Hunan Province, presided over the meeting of the provincial joint prevention and control mechanism work scheduling in Changsha. The meeting conveyed and studied the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important instructions on current COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control and the requirements of Premier Li Keqiang’s instructions. It requested to implement the spirit of the State Council’s joint prevention and control mechanism video and telephone conferences and provincial meetings.

Executive Vice Governor Xie emphasized that the current anti-pandemic situation is complicated and severe. It is necessary to elevate the political stance; implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions; carry out the decisions and deployments of the State Council’s joint prevention and control mechanism; act on the work arrangements of the provincial Party and government; and, regard epidemic prevention and control as a national priority of current work. The most important and top priority is to resolutely implement various measures to achieve no new confirmed cases reported as soon as possible.

She asked to:
-Highlight the most important work and carry out all the tasks strictly, quickly, tightly, practically, and meticulously;
-Firmly establish the comprehensive idea, strengthen overall awareness, play the role of emergency response mechanism, take the initiative to do the job well, and obey orders in all actions;
-Set strict requirements to responsibility, isolation, QR code assignment, and control, to ensure that the responsibility fulfilled by the leader, at the post, implemented by the specific personnel, and to the time node;
-Achieve fast information publicity, epidemiological investigation, co-investigation, detection, and vaccination, give full play to the advantages of big data, strengthen grid-based management, and enhance screening and supervision;
-Maintain the bottom line of preventing hospital infections, strictly prevent overseas import and the spread of the epidemic, and strictly follow the closed management policy on key venues; and,
-Do a good job in publicity and guidance, service guarantee, patient treatment, and normalized pandemic prevention and control, to resolutely win the tough battle against COVID-19.
