Hunan Medical Product Administration Safeguards COVID-19 Vaccine Circulation

2021-04-04 Download Print

A provincial vaccine management meeting was held recently. The Hunan medical products administration stressed tightening up supervision of COVID-19 vaccine circulation, and stemming illegal circulation channels, so as to ensure safe circulations of vaccines and people can get vaccinated.

The vaccines circulated in Hunan are procured by the Hunan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from the vaccine suppliers with use authorization. The authorized suppliers would directly deliver vaccines to city and county-level disease control and prevention institutions, in the light of the contract with the Hunan CDC.

The Hunan medical products administration has tightened up whole-process and full-coverage supervision. It issued a plan for COVID-19 vaccine circulation, and formulated China’s first guideline on vaccine circulation supervision and examination. The city and county-level market regulation authorities should enforce full-coverage supervision of the entrusted delivery enterprises, disease prevention and control institutions at all levels, and the vaccination institutions. They should examine supply resources, cold chain (between 2 and 8 degree Celsius) storage and delivery, information tracking, distribution, validity management, and scraping and destroy of vaccines, based on the Hunan CDC’s procurement record and the Hunan Immunization program platform data. Once any risk is found, they should make investigation immediately, and stem illegal channels of vaccine circulation.

In 2021, the medical product administrations at all levels will continue implement the strictest requirements to strengthen whole process supervision of COVID-19 vaccine circulation, and reinforce investigation and execution of illegal cases, to ensure safe circulation of vaccines.
