Hunan Province held a gathering to celebrate the International Labor Day and commend exemplary units and workers in Changsha on April 29. Xu Dazhe, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, attended and delivered a speech. Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, presided over the meeting. Li Weiwei, chairwoman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee attended.

Provincial leaders Wu Lan, Xie Jianhui, Zhang Jianfei, Feng Yi, Wu Guiying, Zhou Nong and Chen Fei attended.

At the conference:
-- Exemplary individuals won National May 1 Labor Medal;
-- Exemplary units were granted National May 1 Labor Prize and groups honored as National Worker Pioneers;
-- Exemplary individuals won Provincial May 1 Labor Medal;
-- Exemplary units were granted Provincial May 1 Labor Prize and groups honored as Provincial Worker Pioneers; and,
-- Model units, teams, and individuals were awarded at the Hunan Provincial Labor Competition of Key Construction Projects for One Million Employees.
