The 71st International Children’s Day falls on June 1st, 2021. A themed celebration was held in Changsha on May 31, 2021, co-hosted by the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League (CCYL) and the Chinese Young Pioneers (CYP) Hunan Work Committee. Hunan Vice Governor Zhu Zhongming attended and addressed the event.
The event was themed “young pioneers follow the Party’s lead”. Focusing on “realizing the Chinese Dream, and constructing a new Hunan”, various performances were staged to show children’s efforts in Party history learning, such as songs, dances, and dramas. They also gave presentations of Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan students’ study tours for the implementations of the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy.
Vice Governor Zhu extended his best wishes to all the young pioneers at present, and expressed expectations for all children in Hunan. He expected children to establish lofty aspirations, study hard, foster good morals, and strengthen physical education, to enhance their ability to construct the motherland and hometowns. Children were encouraged to combine their aspirations with the development of the province and the country, and the great goal of national rejuvenation, and to greet the challenges in the future.
He asked Party committees and governments at all levels in Hunan Province to thoroughly implement the CPC Central Committee’s instruction on strengthening CYP work in the new era, and fulfill their responsibilities in caring for children’s healthy growth. All walks of life are required to do their best to support CYP work and children’s development.
