April 26, 2021 marks the 21st World Intellectual Property Day. The three cities of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan (CZT) jointly launched the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Publicity Week at the Changsha Tianxin Cultural Advertising Industrial Park on April 20. The theme is “Strengthening IPR Regional Cooperation and Promoting CZT Integrated Development”.

Duan Zhixiong, member of the CPC Leadership Group of the Hunan Administration for Market Regulation and director of the Hunan Intellectual Property Administration; Zhang Zhiyong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Changsha Municipal People's Congress; Zhu Zhenxiang, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Zhuzhou Municipal People's Congress; and, Dong Wei, vice mayor of Xiangtan City, attended the launch ceremony.

The publicity week campaign lasts from April 20 to 26. More than 80 activities will be held in CZT to fully demonstrate CZT’s intellectual property development process. Directors of CZT’s intellectual property or market regulation administrations signed a cooperation agreement to co-construct and share intellectual property resources at the launch ceremony.

Deputy Director Zhang Zhiyong said that, deepening IPR cooperation is important for CZT integrated development. Efforts should be made to improve IPR consultation mechanism and explore the establishment of an IPR cooperation model. Further progress should be made to implement the Cooperation Agreement on CZT IPR Application and Protection. The mechanism for transferring clues and sharing information of CZT IPR administrative law enforcement cases should be improved. Experience exchange activities on IPR management, intellectual property transformation in colleges and universities, and IPR protection should be carried out. Efforts should also be made to improve CZT’s IPR governance capacity and level, so as to support CZT’s high-quality economic development.
