Xiangtan National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone

Xiangtan National High-tech Industrial Development Zone was established in 1992 and promoted to the national level in 2009. In 2014, it was approved as a Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, with a jurisdiction area of 46.8 square kilometers. The zone has seized the new historical opportunity of "One Belt, One Region" and implemented the strategy of "innovation-oriented opening up and the rise of central region", to “build an intelligent manufacturing valley and an independent innovation zone”. It is an important base boasting active scientific and technological innovation and outstanding industrial characteristics in central China.

In order to implement the innovation-driven development strategy, establish Xiangtan into a "Made in China 2025" pilot and demonstration city, and become an intelligent manufacturing valley in central China, Xiangtan National High-tech Industrial Development Zone will be guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, and take "establishing new thinking, cultivating new driver, exploring new models, and achieving new development" as the development path. It will focus on building a “3+1” industrial system dominated by high-end equipment manufacturing, new generation information technology, new materials industry, and modern service industry. It will build an intelligent manufacturing demonstration area that has perfect innovation ecology, gathers high-end industries, deepens opening up and cooperation, and has innovative system and mechanism in central China. It is hoped that it will make greater contributions to Hunan’s “Three Hubs and Four New Missions” Strategy.
