Xiangtan National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone

The Xiangtan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone was established in July 1992 and elevated to the national level in March 2009. In December 2014, it was approved as a Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, with a planning area of 149.8 square kilometers (including the Zhaoshan Area). In recent years, the zone has followed the principle of building itself into an intelligent manufacturing valley in central regions of China, fully committed to establishing "one valley and two zones." This entails establishing the "intelligent manufacturing valley" for the rise of Central China, and constructing a demonstration zone for innovation-driven development and a pioneering zone for green transformation and development. The industrial zone has attracted more than 5,000 enterprises to settle down and has been awarded 20 national "gold calling cards",  including a national innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration base, a national pilot zone for intellectual property rights powerhouse, and a national outstanding logistics zone.

The zone enjoys a prime location. Situated in the downtown area of Xiangtan City and backed by the Fahuashan Mountain—the "green lung" of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan metropolitan area—it stands as one of China's rare national-level development zones nestled within a central urban district.

The zone boasts distinctive industries. It has established a "two main and one special" industrial system of high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, and digital economy, with the gross output value of the dominant industries accounting for 80% of the total.

The zone has a comprehensive innovation system. There are 29 national public service platforms, including 4 national key laboratories (enterprise technology centers), 1 national science and technology business incubator, and 3 makerspaces.

The zone boasts a first-class business environment. It has always taken optimizing the business environment as its "No. 1 Project". Aiming at "the highest efficiency, the best service, and the most preferential policies", it has been rated as the advanced zone at the business environment assessment of provincial industrial parks and zones for four consecutive times in recent years.
