The Changsha Customs announced that this batch of exhibits adopted an integrated customs clearance mode, following their air transport from Africa to the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. The participating enterprises opted to declare their imports through the "Single Window" system with the Xingsha Customs, simplifying port clearance formalities, shortening port clearance time, and greatly improving the efficiency of the customs clearance procedures. Soon, other CAETE exhibition materials including black tea from South Africa, handicrafts from Uganda, and fresh flowers from Kenya will arrive in succession.
According to the Changsha Customs, compared to the previous two sessions of the CAETE, the number of participating countries and the number of exhibition categories have significantly increased, as well as the sheer volume of objects. To date, there have been 1,124 categories of exhibition items from 29 countries, an increase of 87.3% over the previous session, and the numbers continue to increase.
To ensure a smoother customs clearance process for the increasing exhibition categories and volume of objects, the Changsha Customs has taken proactive measures, releasing the “Customs Clearance Notice for the Third China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo”, which provides a detailed explanation of the customs clearance process. Addressing the needs of enterprises with imported exhibition materials, the customs authority has also guided enterprises in using the "Single Window" to complete the temporary registration of exhibition materials, along with the customs declaration, inspection and release procedures. At the customs clearance site, a “Green Channel for CAETE Exhibition Materials” has been set up, with dedicated personnel assigned to provide round-the-clock customs clearance reservation services, ensuring the efficient customs clearance of the exhibition materials.
