At the meeting, Changsha County and Rwamagana district of Rwanda's Eastern Province signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on establishing sister city relationship. Rwamagana is one of the seven districts of the Eastern Province of the Republic of Rwanda. It is located only 30 kilometers from the capital city of Kigali and its leading industries are agriculture and plantation. James Kimonyo, Rwanda's ambassador to China, said that the signing of the MOU marks the establishment of friendly relations between the two places, which is conducive to strengthening bilateral economic ties, cultural and economic exchanges, and mutual understanding, and building a bridge of friendship between the two peoples.
"The successful signing of the MOU is a vivid practice of Changsha County's pioneering role in establishing itself as an inland hub for reform and opening up. It lays a solid foundation for future cooperation and exchanges between the two sides," said a person in charge of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Changsha County Committee. He added that, the two sides will further enhance cooperation in various sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure construction, and construction machinery to continuously deepen bilateral friendship.
