China's First Domestic Full-industrial Chain Silicon Carbide Production Line Put into Operation in Changsha

On the morning of June 23, the Hunan San'an Semiconductor Industrial Park Project Phase Ⅰ was put into operation in Changsha.


Xu Dazhe, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary and Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee director, announced that the project was officially put into production.


Mao Weiming, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee deputy secretary and Hunan governor, delivered a speech.

The Hunan San’an Semiconductor Industrial Park Project Phase Ⅰ was put into production on June 23, 2021. It marked completion of China’s first and the world’s third full-industrial chain silicon carbide production line in Changsha City. Xu Dazhe, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary and Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee director, announced that the project was officially put into production. Mao Weiming, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee deputy secretary and Hunan governor, delivered a speech.

Provincial leaders Huang Lanxiang, Zhang Jianfei, Wu Guiying, and Chen Fei attended the ceremony or delivered speeches.

Hunan San’an Semiconductor Industrial Park is located in Changsha High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. It is one of the “Top 10 Industrial Projects” of Hunan Province and Changsha City, and one of the 24 iconic projects in Changsha manufacturing industry. The project has a total investment of 16 billion yuan, a land area of 1,000 mu (66.7 ha.), and will be constructed in two phases. It is mainly engaged in R&D and production of the third-generation compound semiconductor materials and devices. It will be widely used in new energy vehicles, high-speed rail locomotives, aviation and aerospace, and wireless communication. Upon completion, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 12 billion yuan, an annual tax revenue of 1.7 billion yuan, and created, directly or indirectly, 10,000 jobs.
