Mao Weiming, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee deputy secretary and Hunan governor, inspected Valin Group, Hunan Light Industry & Salt Industry Group, and Hunan Construction Engineering Group on May 13, 2021. He asked to implement President Xi Jinping’s important expositions on the reform and development of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and Party building, and carry forward the spirit of his important speech made when inspecting Hunan. We should take high-quality development as the general aim, reform and development the driving force, and talent gathering the support, and carry out structural adjustment all the way through, to shoulder our responsibilities and make new contributions in carrying out “Three Highlands and Four New Missions” Strategy.

Governor Mao emphasized that we must uphold and strengthen overall Party leadership over SOEs, and ensure Party's leadership in all aspects and the whole procedure of enterprise management and that the SOEs development pursues a correct political direction. It is necessary to deepen the reform of state-owned assets and state-owned enterprises; accelerate layout optimization and structural adjustment of the state-owned economy; improve the modern enterprise system with Chinese characteristics; and, continue to stimulate the endogenous motivation and vitality of enterprises. SOEs should focus on making the main business stronger, better, and bigger; play a leading role in the industrial and supply chains as a leader and backbone; enhance comprehensive strength and core competitiveness; prevent and resolve major risks; and, ensure the preservation and appreciation of state-owned assets. We must pay close attention to technological innovation; build a high-end innovation platform; attract innovative teams and leading talents; overcome key and core technologies; solve “stranglehold” industrial problems; and, make new contributions to Hunan’s high-quality development, he added.
