The China Telecom held a conference for pushing forward the digital countryside development nationwide in Changsha on April 12, 2021. Hunan Vice Governor Sui Zhongcheng was present.
The conference issued a white paper of the China Telecom on digital countryside development. It presents a systematic summarization of China Telecom’s practices in pushing forward digital countryside building, and introduction of related construction plans and cases.
The digital countryside development strategy integrates rural vitalization and digital China strategies. During the 14th Five-year Plan period (2021-2025), the China Telecom will focus on infrastructure construction, application innovation, and farmer-benefit information service related to the strategy, in a bid to promote rural vitalization in an all-round way. A cloud-based digital transformation is planned for the next phase. It will leverage its advantages of cloud-network integration and digital capacity, and collaborate with professional teams and partners in the fields of e-commerce, medical treatment, education, and finance, to jointly push forward digital countryside construction and rural vitalization.
The China Telecom has more than 100 million mobile users, 66.5 million broadband users, 56 million IPTV users, and over 100,000 service outlets in rural areas. It has completed construction of more than 200,000 demonstration villages, and provided more than 630 counties and districts with digital countryside comprehensive information service.
