The People’s Government of Hunan Province and the Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. signed a framework agreement for deepening strategic cooperation in Changsha on January 9, 2020. Du Jiahao, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary, and Xu Dazhe, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee deputy secretary and Hunan governor, met with Xu Zhijun, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. rotating chairman, and his entourage. They then witnessed the signing ceremony together.

Provincial leaders Hu Henghua and Zhang Jianfei attended. Xie Jianhui, CPC Hunan Provincial Standing Committee member and executive vice governor, and Hou Jinlong, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. senior vice president, signed the contract on behalf of both parties.

According to the agreement, both sides will give full play to their complementary advantages in technology, talents, markets, and resources. In specific, they will jointly:
-Promote Kunpeng computing industry’s development and accelerate the progress of key industries;
-Participate in the “Digital Hunan” top-level design and digital bases construction, to speed up the new-type smart city construction and improve the modernization level of governance systems and capabilities; and,
-Carry forward the large-scale deployment of 5G networks in Hunan Province, such as advancing the “5G plus Industrial Internet” application innovation, the “5G plus Intelligent Connected Vehicles” demonstration construction, the “5G plus Ultra HD Video” industry development, and 5G communication terminal manufacturing, to achieve mutual benefits, win-win results, and common development.
