Nearly 20 large trucks loaded with relief materials including quilts, cotton coats, oil and grain, depart from the Hunan Provincial Center for Disaster Preparedness and Disaster Reduction to poverty-stricken counties.

On December 25, a program to help needy people to enjoy the upcoming Spring Festival was launched on the 9th floor of the Hunan Welfare Lottery Distribution Center, Changsha.

The program says that from December 2018 to February 2019, visits will be paid to urban and rural residents living on minimum living allowances, people in extreme poverty, registered poor households, and poor families with left-behind children, women, and elderly people. The event aims to convey the care of the Party and governments for those in need, and help them enjoy a warm winter and a peaceful New Year.

This year, the province has paid more attention to overall planning of resources, the linkage of government organs at various levels, and social participation. A total of 587 million CNY has been collected, including 374 million CNY provincial government relief funds on winter and spring, and temporary aids; 190 million CNY by cities and counties; and 23 million CNY by social parties.
