Gyeongsangbuk-Do Provincial Council Delegates Visit Hunan

Gyeongsangbuk-Do Provincial Council delegation conducts exchanges with members of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee. 
 
Yang briefed the South Korean guests about Hunan and the People’s Congress system. Chinese local people’s congresses at different levels and their standing committees exercise the functions and powers including legislation; supervision of the work of other provincial organs; decision making; and, personnel appointment and removal. The Hunan Provincial People’s Congress has 763 representatives, and 7 special committees. The 13th Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress has 64 members and 6 departments.

Hunan is a major engineering machinery manufacturer and rail transit powerhouse in China. Gyeongsangbuk-Do is the largest province in Korean peninsula, and a major industrial base of South Korea. In this November 29, Hunan and Gyeongsangbuk-Do established friendly relationship. Yang claimed that, provincial council communication is important for bilateral friendship. He expected to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning; consolidate existing cooperation results; and, promote collaboration in broader fields, so as to continuously enhance the friendly relations.  
 
Jang expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He mentioned that, Zhangjiajie is one of the most preferred tourist destinations of South Korean tourists, and thus Hunan is widely known in South Korea. This visit aimed to observe political similarities and differences between both sides, he added. He hoped that the two provinces will make more exchange visits, and intensify bilateral friendship.
