The New Year Performing Arts Season has been held for five years. It has various programmes, including symphony, folk music, acrobatics, dance drama, child play, and singing and dancing party.
This season will have four major programmes : Hunan New Year Concert, Hunan Performance Group’s New Year Concert, Changsha New Year Concert, and Hunan Grand Theatre’s New Year Concert; and, more than 100 performances around the New Year’s Day and Spring Festival.
The Hunan New Year Concert on every Xiaonian (little New Year, usually a week before Chinese lunar New Year) evening is an important annual gala in Hunan. This year’s concert will be performed by the newly founded Changsha Symphony Orchestra, and some famous conductors and musicians from home and abroad.
The 2019 Hunan Performance Group’s New Year Concert will continue its folk music concert style, performed by the national orchestra of the Hunan Song and Dance Theatre, at the Hunan Grand Theatre on January 23 evening.
The Belarus National Symphony Orchestra will perform at the 2019 Hunan Grand Theatre New Year Concert on January 6 evening.
Changsha New Year Concert will be staged at the Changsha Concert Hall on December 28, 2018.
During the Performing Arts Season, the Hunan Song and Dance Theatre, Hunan Circus Troupe, Hunan Drama Theatre, Changsha Symphony Orchestra, Hunan Grand Theatre, and Hunan Performance Company, will stage more than 100 performances to satisfy different audience groups. In addition to Changsha, special performances will be arranged across the province.
During the 2019 New Year’s Day, and Chinese Spring Festival, the Hunan Performance Group will send three troupes to U.S.A, Germany, Laos, for cultural exchanges and performances.
