A provincial experience exchange on the construction of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) was held on July 24. The First People’s Hospital of Yueyang was included in the first batch of Hunan ERAS Models and the only one in Yueyang to receive the honor. Its Hepatobiliary Surgery Department was awarded as an ERAS standard demonstration ward in Hunan. There are only six hospitals on the first batch list.

ERAS is a multimodal perioperative care pathway designed to achieve early recovery for patients undergoing major surgery.
