2020 Hunan “Blue Book” Published

On July 27, a press conference on the release of the “2020 Hunan Blue Book” was held in Changsha. Tan Wensheng, director of the Development Research Center of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government, introduced the book. The “2020 Hunan Blue Book” series have more than 1.8 million characters and include 192 research reports written by 11 provincial leaders, 27 departmental heads and leaders of 14 cities and prefecture, and 53 experts and scholars.

The “Hunan Blue Book” is an annual think-tank publication of the Development Research Center. It publicizes analysis, research, and prediction on Hunan’s development, and presents theoretical achievements which have contributed to Hunan’s progress. There have been 71 volumes published over the past 25 years. It has become a representative publication of policy consultation, public opinion guidance, social service, and international communication.

The 2020 edition has four volumes, including: 1. reports on Hunan’s economic development; 2. social development; 3. “Two-oriented Society” and ecological civilization progress; and, 4. development researches.

Tan noted that, the “2020 Hunan Blue Book” focuses on building an attractive and prosperous Hunan with a promising future. It has a wide range of content, especially development of economy, society, “Two-oriented Society”, and ecological civilization. It summarizes Hunan’s development conditions and characteristics in 2019, and puts forward advices and measures to contribute to Hunan to achieve high-quality economic and social development, and build a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
