The continuous girder of the railway bridge crossing over the S236 provincial highway—the first continuous girder on the entire Shaoyang-Yongzhou High-speed Railway—was successfully joined together on July 6.

This railway bridge is located in Luhongshi Town, Dong'an County, Yongzhou, constructed by the China Railway No.5 Engineering Group. The successful joining of its continuous girder marked a critical progress of the Shaoyang-Yongzhou High-speed Railway, laying a solid foundation for the follow-up bridge construction.

The Shaoyang-Yongzhou High-speed Railway is a vital component of the Hohhot-Nanning High-speed Railway, a vertical artery of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network. The line spans approximately 96 kilometers with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It connects with Loudi-Shaoyang high-speed railway section in the north, and links Hengyang-Liuzhou section in the south. Upon opening to traffic, this railway will be of great significance for improving the regional railway network layout and promoting the high-quality development of the central regions of China.
