On October 16, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Vientiane Municipal Committee of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and chairman of the Vientiane Municipal Front for National Construction led trainees for Lao local government senior positions to visit departments of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress. Also participating were Zhang Jianfei, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, and Wang Xiaoke, secretary general of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress.

The trainees visited an exhibition on Hunan's practices in supporting the people's congress system and exchanged views with relevant members of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress.

The Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress welcomed the guests and gave a briefing on the people's congress system and Hunan's relevant initiatives. The Standing Committee expressed the hope that the two sides will conduct more exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, culture, tourism, education, and legislation, continuously enhancing mutual trust and friendship and delivering more tangible benefits to boost the building of a Laos-China community with a shared future.

The trainees noted that China and Laos are good neighbors, friends, comrades, and partners. This visit highlighted local efforts and cooperation in building a Laos-China community with a shared future. Theoretical and practical achievements made by the Hunan Provincial People's Congress in implementing major policies of the central government and practicing whole-process people's democracy have provided a reference for the national and local development of Laos. The trainees hoped that the Hunan Provincial People's Congress and the local people's congresses of Laos will strengthen exchanges and cooperation. Meanwhile, more local contributions will be made to further support the steady and long-term development of the Laos-China community with a shared future, promoting the enduring friendship between China and Laos.
