The delegation was led by Suos Yara, first vice chairperson of the CPP External Relations Commission and chairperson of the National Assembly Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Media and Information.

On the morning of October 27, Governor Mao welcomes CPP External Relations Commission Vice Chairperson Suos Yara and his delegation to Hunan.

Also present were Sak Setha, senior minister and permanent vice president of the National Committee for Sub-National Democratic Development; Chen Zhou, vice minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee; Zhang Yingchun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of Hunan Province; and Qu Hai, secretary-general of the Hunan Provincial People's Government.

Governor Mao welcomed the guests and briefed them on Hunan's economic and social development. He noted that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Cambodian counterpart, Hunan and Cambodia have witnessed robust momentum in economic and trade cooperation, fruitful agricultural collaboration, and remarkable achievements in cultural, educational, and healthcare exchanges.

The Hunan-Cambodia trade volume reached 2.37 billion CNY in 2024, marking a 50.1% year-on-year increase. The Cambodia Commercial Center (Changsha) officially started operation. Cambodian rice, fruits, and other products enjoy high popularity in Hunan, while Hunan's construction machinery, luggage, footwear, and other goods  can be widely found in Cambodia. Currently, Hunan has been thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and focusing on the blueprint outlined in the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy, striving to compose the Hunan chapter of Chinese modernization.

The governor stated that Hunan will actively participate in the establishment of the China-Cambodia "Industrial Development Corridor" and "Fish and Rice Corridor," strengthening pragmatic cooperation in such areas as construction machinery, infrastructure, modern agriculture, healthcare, and cultural tourism, so as to contribute more to building an all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era.

The meeting.

Suos Yara noted that Cambodia and China enjoy a long-standing traditional friendship. President Xi Jinping's visit to Cambodia in this April solidified the ironclad friendship between our two countries, elevating Cambodia-China relations to new heights. The Cambodian side will implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries. Taking this visit to Hunan as an opportunity, Cambodia will learn from and draw on Hunan's experience and practices in Party school development, cadre training, grassroots governance, agricultural cultivation, and aquaculture. Cambodia will enhance economic and trade exchanges, friendship-city interactions, and cultural integration to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
