2024 China (Changsha) Cultural and Tourism Promotion Event in Croatia Held

On the afternoon of September 17, local time, the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television held the "2024 China (Changsha) Cultural and Tourism Promotion Event in Croatia" in Dubrovnik, Croatia, with the theme of "Happy Changsha, Charming Star City". The event aimed to promote Changsha's cultural tourism resources to Croatian tourists and sincerely invite them to visit Changsha and experience the city's unique charm.


More than 80 people attended the promotion event, including former chief of Dubrovnik-Neretva County; Branko Balon, president of the Croatia-China Friendship Association for Cultural, Scientific and Economic Cooperation; and, Jiang Xiaoliang, president of the Balkan Chinese Tourism Federation.


At the promotion event, the Changsha delegation introduced Changsha's rich cultural and tourism resources and characteristic products in detail, inviting Croatian people and tourism practitioners to experience the unique charm and cuisine of Changsha and to feel the hospitality of its people. On the occasion of China's Mid-Autumn Festival, President Branko Balon also sent his festive greetings in his speech, adding that he had long heard of Changsha's achievements in cultural tourism promotion in recent years, as Changsha is hailed as "one of the most famous tourist cities" in China. This overseas promotion event sparked a strong desire among attendees to explore the the city's scenery and tourism experience. The event showcased Huxiang culture, deepened Croatian people's understanding of Changsha's cultural and tourism resources, and helped Changsha enhance its popularity and reputation in the international arena.


At the promotion event, Huang Bin, a representative of the President Unit of the Changsha Travel Agency Association, and Jiang Xiaoliang, president of the Croatian Balkan Chinese Tourism Federation, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. The two sides will jointly promote the complementarity of resources, mutual promotion of products, mutual delivery of tourists, mutual sharing of information, interconnectivity of transportation, and personnel interactions, as well as the development of new products and routes, precise marketing, and quality services. Several rounds of lucky draws were held to give away Changsha folk artworks, intangible cultural heritage products, and luxury travel packages including air tickets and hotel accommodation.


of Changsha's intangible cultural heritages took place in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Forty carefully selected high-definition landscape photos of Changsha City and over 50 fine intangible cultural heritage products from the city were on display. The photos presented Changsha's vibrant urban style, representative landmark landscapes, colorful night markets, ancient and leisurely streets and lanes, local cultural customs, and brilliant fireworks. The intangible cultural heritage display highlighted Changsha's intangible cultural heritage items such as Hunan embroidery, chrysanthemum stone carving, traditional incense, Liuyang Xiabu cloth, Changsha Kiln porcelain, and Changsha dough sculptures. Some new cultural and creative products catering to the city's fashion of new Chinese-made goods were also showcased. With their novel and diverse designs and rich colors, the products drew great attention and praise from local residents and tourists.
