On March 11, the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park received the first tour group from Macao since the resumption of inbound tourism. The group consisted of 27 members. The arrival of the tour group marked a significant milestone as it signified the first resumption of inbound tourism to the world natural heritage site since the COVID-19 outbreak three years ago.

The tour group was a VIP group organized by a travel agency based in Zhangjiajie. The group had planned a comprehensive three-day and two-night itinerary in Zhangjiajie, starting with a visit to the Golden Whip Brook. They then took the Bailong Elevator to explore Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain. Later, the group went on to visit other tourist destinations such as the Tujia Ethnic Group Folk Customs Garden, Furong Ancient Town, Fenghuang Ancient Town, Aizhai Bridge, and Morong Miao Village for sightseeing.

Zhangjiajie's tourism industry has shown a remarkable recovery, from the peak of domestic travel during the Spring Festival to the resumption of inbound tours. According to a person in charge of the Wulingyuan District Cultural Tourism Department, Wulingyuan District will achieve precise matching for tourists from Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Yangtze River Delta region, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The district will carry out a series of "Tourism plus" marketing and promotional activities. Wulingyuan will see the holding of the first tourism development conference of Zhangjiajie City as an opportunity to revive its cultural tourism market.
