Exhibition on Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang-era Cultural Relics from Shaanxi Province Opens in Hunan

An exhibition of cultural relics of Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang dynasties from Shaanxi Province opened at Hunan Museum on the morning of February 24.

The exhibition features 120 sets of cultural relics from Shaanxi History Museum, Xianyang Museum, Hanyangling Museum, Famen Temple Museum, Qianling Museum, and Chang'an Museum. It reveals the ideological essences and cultures of Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang dynasties chronologically in the process of civilization development, and showcases the brilliance of the Shaanxi region in the history of China. The exhibition highlights Chinese nation's national spirit and cultural confidence of valuing virtue and rites, diligence, and inclusiveness, and demonstrates the glorious era in the history of the Chinese nation.



The exhibition focuses on rites and systems of Zhou and Qin dynasties and the elegance of Han and Tang dynasties through four parts.

The first part showcases bronze wares of Shang and Zhou dynasties, presenting the strength of Zhou Dynasty and its rites and music system. The second part centers on the rise of Qin Dynasty and the unification of China through building components, weapons, carriages and horses, currency, and instruments for weights and measures. The third part mainly demonstrates Han Dynasty—the first development peak of the ancient Chinese society. The fourth part shows the prosperity of Chang'an and the Silk Roads of the flourishing Tang Dynasty, with trade caravans from all over the world gathering in the ancient city.

The exhibition will last till June 11.
