Flight MR845 carrying 98 passengers from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, landed at Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport at 20:18 on July 8. The arrival marked the opening of Zhangjiajie’s first direct passenger air route to Mongolia.

Operated by Mongolia's Hunnu Air on E190 aircraft, the new roundtrip flight will fly once a week on Monday from July 8 to September 30. A single trip takes about three hours and 30 minutes. The flight numbers for the route are MR845 and MR846. Flight MR845 takes off from Ulaanbaatar at 15:30 (Beijing Time) and lands in Zhangjiajie at 19:00. Flight MR846 sets off from Zhangjiajie at 20:00 and arrives in Ulaanbaatar at 23:30.

Mongolia boasts a rich cultural heritage, vast grasslands, magnificent mountains, and unique desert landscapes. The new route serves as a convenient air passage linking Zhangjiajie and Ulaanbaatar, promoting the recovery of the tourism market, as well as economic and trade exchanges, and economic development on both sides. The route will also attract more tourists to Zhangjiajie, and facilitate travelers from Zhangjiajie and surrounding areas who plan to visit Mongolia.

Together with the Zhangjiajie-Ulaanbaatar route, Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport has opened 12 international and regional passenger routes, including five routes to South Korea, five to Southeast Asia, one to Mongolia, and one to Hong Kong. Passengers mainly come from regions such as Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia. Since the beginning of this year, Zhangjiajie has seen a boom in inbound tourism. As of July 8, the Zhangjiajie Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection Station has processed more than 1,500 inbound and outbound flights and 255,000 passenger trips.
