Railways and highways are the main means of transport for Hengyang. They connect Hengyang with most major provinces and cities. 

The Beijing–Guangzhou line and Zhuzhou–Liuzhou line pass the city, making it convenient for tourists to visit the city. Hengyang Railway Station has inter-city lines to Changsha, Zhangjiajie, Yueyang and Yongzhou. Tickets are available to many other cities both within and beyond the province.  

It is located in No.1, Beihu Road, Zhuhui District, Hengyang City. Every day there are trains available to other big cities in China and to Zhangjiajie or Changsha in Hunan Province. Bus No. 1, 16, 18, Huancheng B Line will take you to the Hengyang Railway Station.

Hengyang East Railway Station/High-speed Railway Station(衡阳东火车站——héng yáng dōng huǒ chē zhàn) 

Hengyang East Railway Station was completed and put to use in December, 2009. It is part of Hunan section on Wuhan-Guangzhou Passenger Line.  

Hengyang East Railway Station is located in Zhuhui District, Hengyang City, Hunan Province. It is about 8 km from the city center, 18 km away from Hengyang Railway Station and 7 km from the Hengyang Central Bus Station. Trips from Hengyang to Guangzhou will take less than two hours.

Hengyang Qidong Railway Station (衡阳祁东火车站——héng yáng qí dōng huǒ chē zhàn）

Hengyang Qidong Railway Station is located in Hongqiao Town, Qidong County, Hengyang City and was built in 1938. It is 63 km away from Hengyang Railway Station and is the city's fourth class railway station.
