Xiangxi Biancheng Airport officially commenced operations on August 18, 2023. It is a civil 4C-grade regional feeder airport located in Huayuan Town, Huayuan County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. Covering an area of 2.35 square kilometers, the airport features a runway measuring 2,600 meters in length, capable of accommodating aircraft such as the Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A321. The terminal building has a total construction area of 11,000 square meters, equipped with five parking stands, including two remote stands and three air bridges. Both the fire protection and medical rescue support levels are rated at Level 6, capable of meeting the operational demands of an annual passenger throughput of one million.

The airport is managed and operated by Hunan Airport Group under the authorization of the  government of the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. Currently, the airport operates six regular routes connecting to ten domestic cities, providing access to ten domestic airports and covering Beijing, certain provincial capitals, and popular tourist destinations.
