Yongzhou Lingling Airport

Basic Information


Yongzhou Lingling Airport is located in Lanjiaoshan Subdistrict, Lengshuitan District, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. Situated at the junction of Hunan, Guangxi, and Guangdong, it is 11 kilometers from Lingling urban area and 7 kilometers from Lengshuitan urban area. The airport's predecessor was Lingling Caijiapu Airfield, originally constructed in the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937). In 1965, the Central Military Commission decided to rebuild and expand Lingling Airport, which was subsequently developed into a first-grade permanent military airport. In 1996, the military-civilian joint-use reconstruction and expansion project for Lingling Airport commenced. After completion in 2000, the airport covered 3.4 million square meters and featured a 2,600 m by 50 m runway, a 2,600 m by 16 m parallel taxiway, and four 100 m by 16 m connecting taxiways. The airfield area is classified as 4C, capable of accommodating all C-class aircraft for takeoff and landing at full load.

In 2001, the airport opened its first passenger route, Changsha-Yongzhou-Haikou, positioned for business and tourism. In 2019, the airport was closed for upgrading and renovation, which lasted 22 months with a total investment of approximately 240 million yuan. The apron was modified from 4 push-back stands to 3 push-back stands and 2 self-maneuvering stands. The terminal building has a total floor area of 4,705.8 square meters, with a single-story layout and a glass curtain wall frame structure, designed for an annual passenger throughput of 1.15 million. It officially resumed operations on January 31, 2021. Currently, the airport operates two domestic routes, connecting three cities within China.
