Located in the Xiangjiang Scenic Belt, the Locomotive Cultural Park is the former site of Changsha South Railway Station. The park, featuring a locomotive and several iron carriages, was once a nostalgic place for Changsha residents and a popular attraction for tourists. However, the locomotive and carriages were left unattended since the park opened in 2010. Being exposed to the open air and in disrepair for a long time, they were damaged seriously. Therefore, the park began to renovate its old locomotive and carriages from August 13, 2018, aiming to create a train-themed demonstration park and provide visitors with better touring experience. The park reopens to the public free of charge after the renovation.
