Kagoshima Youth Delegation Visits Changsha


A youth delegation from Kagoshima City, Japan, visited Changsha City from October 23 to 28, to promote friendly exchanges, led by the chief of Kagoshima's Taniyama Urban Management Division. In accordance with an agreement on friendly exchanges between Changsha City and Kagoshima City, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Changsha Municipal People's Government invited the delegation to Changsha. Also attending the welcome ceremony were Miao Hua, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Changsha Municipal People's Government; Deng Yun, deputy director of the Changsha Municipal Education Bureau; Liu Fang, full-time vice president of the Changsha People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; and, Zhou Qixun, vice president of the Changsha Foreign Languages School, along with other leaders.

The nine-member delegation successively toured the Changsha Planning Exhibition Hall, the Changsha Ecological Zoo, Yuelu Academy, the Orange Isle Scenic Area, the Hunan Art Museum, the Hunan Museum, and other places. The delegates were deeply impressed by the beauty of Changsha and its friendly people.



The delegation also visited the Changsha Foreign Languages School for friendly exchanges. During the visit, the delegates immersed themselves in the school's featured Japanese courses, and participated in several cultural exchange activities such as taekwondo, calligraphy, and paper-cutting.






In addition, eight Japanese students from the delegation stayed with eight host families of the Changsha Foreign Languages School, learning about and experiencing traditional Chinese family culture. The host families thoughtfully arranged various activities for the students during their stay. The Japanese students made and savored traditional Chinese food, climbed Yuelu Mountain together to watch the sunrise, and experienced the real-life adventure game, Escape Room. The warm family environment and friendly atmosphere fostered unforgettable experiences for the Japanese students.




This year marks the 42nd anniversary of the establishment of sister city ties between Changsha and Kagoshima. During this visit, colorful exchange activities were conducted between the Kagoshima youth delegation and middle school students in Changsha. These activities help cultivate a reserve of support for the friendship between Changsha and Kagoshima, holding significant importance in promoting meaningful exchanges between the two cities.
