Executive Vice Governor Zhang Meets with Delegation to Seminar for Women Leaders of Political Parties from Southern African Countries

Zhang Yingchun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with a delegation to the Seminar for Women Leaders of Political Parties from Southern African Countries on October 20, 2025.

Executive Vice Governor Zhang welcomed the guests and briefed them on Hunan's economic and social development. She noted that despite the great distance between Hunan and Africa, both sides have maintained a long-standing friendship for many years. In recent years, exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and African countries have become more frequent and substantive, thanks to the establishment of national-level platforms such as the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and the Pioneering Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation. The vice governor expressed her hope that both sides would further deepen economic and trade exchanges and collaboration, propelling the Hunan-Africa partnership to new heights.

Joana Tomás spoke as head of the delegation to the Seminar for Women Leaders of Political Parties from Southern African Countries, member of the Politburo of the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola - Labour Party, and secretary general of the Organization of Angolan Women. She remarked that Hunan is an important stop on this study tour, where she has witnessed firsthand the dynamic vitality of Hunan's progress. The delegation head expressed her hope to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning and enhance cooperation with Hunan, so as to jointly advance the cause of women.
