It is now the peak season of rubber production in Africa. The Third Rubber Plant of Mainland-Guansheng Joint Venture stands opposite to the dense rubber forests in Grand-Béréby Town, San Pédro Province, Côte d'Ivoire. Local workers are busy on the processing and production lines in the factory. After a series of procedures, the rubber cubes pressed and packed in boxes will be shipped to all over the world.
The Hunan Chenglingji New Port Area has taken advantage of natural resources in Africa to give priority to industrial investment. Relying on its state-owned enterprise of Yueyang Guansheng Investment Development Co., Ltd., the Chenglingji New Port Area has "gone global" in groups with the Hunan Construction Engineering Group and the Mainland Group. It has constructed overseas projects in Africa, investing rubber processing plant in Côte d'Ivoire. Natural rubber is processed and shipped to the global market, leading to the increase of local production capacity, employment, and tax revenue, effectively enhancing the stability of foreign trade business.
At present, the Hunan Chenglingji New Port Area has built three natural rubber processing plants in Dabou City, Duékoué City, and San Pédro Province in Côte d'Ivoire, with an annual capacity of 400,000 tonnes. Among them, the rubber processing plant in Diékoué City is the largest single rubber processing plant in the world, with an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes. The Yueyang Guansheng Investment Development Co., Ltd. has completed rubber trade amounting to 3.47 billion USD in 2024 and 2.51 billion USD this year.
Yan Jinsong, chairman of the Yueyang Guansheng Investment Development Co., Ltd., introduced that the company plans to build a rubber processing plant with an annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes in Liberia. It will also build two rubber processing plants in Wassané City and Guitry City in Côte d'Ivoire, with an annual capacity of 80,000 tonnes and 150,000 tonnes, respectively, continuing to expand trade with Africa.
