On June 3, 460,800 fresh eggs weighing 26.24 tonnes were shipped to the Republic of Djibouti in Africa under the supervision of the Huaihua Customs Authority. The eggs were produced in Mayang Miao Autonomous County of Huaihua City and will be exported through the road-sea cold-chain transportation via the Shekou Port of Shenzhen City. This was Hunan's first export of fresh eggs to Africa.
"We signed this order at the Canton Fair this May. The eggs are mainly sold to the Republic of Djibouti and neighboring African countries such as Kenya and Ethiopia," said Lei Huaying, head of the exporter, the Mayang Blue Phoenix Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. Thanks to the expansion of new markets, the company's exports of fresh eggs in the first four months of this year have increased more than 20-fold.
Statistics of the Huaihua Customs Authority showed that Huaihua's imports and exports to Africa surged 119.1% year on year to 930 million CNY during the January-April period of this year. The Huaihua Customs Authority has opened a "green channel" and implemented "scheduled inspections," "online approval processes," and other procedures for the export of high-quality specialty agricultural products from Huaihua. These measures aim to further enhance the efficiency of customs clearance, facilitating more local high-quality specialty products to go global.
