Expo Central China Achieves Fruitful Outcomes

The 13th Central China Investment and Trade Exposition (Expo Central China 2024) lowered its curtain in Changsha on June 2. According to the data from the organizer, the expo has achieved fruitful results. The six provinces in central China signed 284 projects, with a total investment of 251.148 billion yuan. As of 10:00 a.m. on June 2, the trade turnover reached 166.343 million yuan.


As the host province, Hunan has signed 91 projects with a total investment of 62.852 billion yuan, including two foreign- and 89 domestic-funded projects. Shanxi Province signed 26 projects with a total investment of 25.003 billion yuan; Anhui Province signed 25 projects with a total investment of 28.977 billion yuan; Jiangxi Province signed 51 projects with a total investment of 33.575 billion yuan; Henan Province signed 46 projects with a total investment of 40.35 billion yuan; and, Hubei Province signed 45 projects with a total investment of 60.422 billion yuan.


A total of 25 related activities have been held, including the first collaborated investment promotion conference of the six provinces in central China and other three major activities; 21 themed investment promotion and cooperation matchmaking activities, focusing on the featured and superior industrial chains, investment promotion, industrial transfer, digital finance, medical devices, and agriculture and farming machinery of the six provinces; and, a "multinational enterprises tour around Hunan" event based on the investment and observation expectations of these enterprises.


The total exhibition area of the expo covered about 40,000 square meters, displaying exhibits of advanced manufacturing, electronic information, new energy industry, new chemical materials, construction engineering, culture and tourism, among others. A total of 1,052 enterprises from 32 countries and regions participated in the expo, including over 220 multinational enterprises. More than 600 foreign guests were present, including 14 global vice presidents and higher managers and 95 regional vice presidents in China and higher-rank managers of multinational corporations.


Since 2006, the six provinces in central China have taken turns to host the expo. This year marks the 13th session. The expo has played a crucial role in accelerating the rise of central China, boosting the central regions to open up and go global.
