The exhibition titled "The Greeks: from Agamemnon to Alexander the Great" opened at the Hunan Museum on December 19.
This exhibition takes visitors on an extraordinary journey through more than thousands of years of Greek culture and history. It features 270 pieces or sets of collection involving goldware, bronzeware, pottery, and sculpture from 14 Greek museums. The show is organized by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture. These artifacts illustrate pivotal moments in Greek politics, economy, and culture from prehistory to the Hellenistic age.
The exhibition is divided into seven sections arranged chronologically, which allows visitors to explore different eras in the development of ancient Greek civilization. Visitors have the chance to encounter the Cycladic and Minoan cultures of the Aegean, and meet the Mycenaean civilization, the warriors of Sparta, and Alexander the Great, who is known for spreading Greek culture worldwide.
