A special luncheon event promoting Changsha City was held at the Dongyu Island Hotel in Boao, Hainan Province on March 30. It was jointly organized by the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) and the Changsha Municipal People's Government. Danilo Türk, honorary chairman of the Global Economic Development and Security Forum of the BFA, and Andy Tsang Wai-hung, chairman of the forum, delivered speeches. Kang Zhenlin, vice mayor of Changsha City and chairman of the Changsha Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, briefed the guests on Changsha's current situation.
At the luncheon, Andy Tsang Wai-hung said that the second Global Economic Development and Security Forum of the BFA is scheduled to be held in Changsha this autumn.
With the theme of "Economic Security and Sustainable Development in a World of Great Change", the first Global Economic Development and Security Forum of the BFA was successfully held in Changsha from October 18 to 20, 2021, with more than 30 important events organized. It provided a platform for high-level dialogue between political, business and academic leaders from Asia and the rest of the world, contributed Asian wisdom and solutions to the task of our times--"development and security", and injected strong impetus into the building of a high-quality community with a shared future for mankind.
With a stronger lineup of guests, richer discussions, more colorful themed events, and more influential forum platforms, the second session of the forum will pool global wisdom and form synergies to address the challenges in global development and security.
