Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan joined a group deliberation with deputies from Hunan Province attending the fifth session of the 13th National People‘s Congress (NPC). He stressed the significance of establishing Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and of defining the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Based on the new era and embarking on a new journey, this is where our confidence is grounded to overcome all kinds of difficulties and obstacles. He called for putting this into history and realize the decisive significance for promoting the process of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. All Party members must strengthen their consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership; stay confident in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics; and uphold Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and uphold the Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership, he added.

Li Dianxun and Liu Lianyu, deputy heads of Hunan delegation; and Du Jiahao, Xu Dazhe, Fu Kui, Wang Shaofeng, Chen Wenhao, Xie Yong, Zhang Zhuohua, Hu Weilin, Tian Hongqi, and Han Yongwen, attended. Wang Shuangquan, Tian Liwen, and Ye Xiaoying were present as non-voting delegates.
