Mao Weiming was elected Governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province at the third plenary meeting of the fourth session of the 13th Hunan Provincial People's Congress. It was held at the People’s Hall of Hunan Province on the morning of January 29, 2021.

Mao Weiming, male, Han nationality, born in May, 1961, is a native of Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province. He began to work in August, 1982 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in September, 1985. He obtained the bachelor’s degree in engineering and is a professor-level senior engineer. He serves as alternate member of the 19th CPC Central Committee; deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee; secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of the People’s Government of Hunan Province; and, governor of Hunan Province.
