Governor Mao welcomed Secretary General Li and his entourage to Hunan and briefly introduced the economic and social development of the province. He noted that Hunan has been implementing the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important instructions of "controlling COVID-19, stabilizing economy, and ensuring safe development", and the positioning and tasks of the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy. Hunan's economy is generally stable, better than the national average, firming up, and improving steadily, he remarked, adding that in the first half of this year, the provincial GDP reached 2.29 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.3%, which was 1.8 percentage points higher than the national average. The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents rose by 5.3% and 6.4% respectively, which was synchronized with economic development and higher than that of the economic growth.

Mao said that in recent years, Hunan and BFA has been continuously deepening collaboration. A serial of important international conferences, such as first BFA Global Economic Development and Security Forum, have been held in Hunan. These conferences have effectively facilitated friends from all over the world to be familiar with, get closer to, and invest in Hunan. This symposium is another important measure for BFA to further play the role of an international and professional platform to help Hunan build "Three Hubs", introduce more enterprises to invest in Hunan, and strengthen international cooperation in equipment manufacturing, clean energy and other fields. He promised that Hunan government will further optimize business environment and provide high-quality and efficient services for various market entities to develop themselves here.
Secretary General Li thanked Hunan for its support to BFA. He remarked that BFA and Hunan shared profound cooperation potential. The opening of this symposium in Changsha was a pragmatic action taken by BFA to join hands with and give support to Hunan, as well as be optimistic about the optimization of Hunan's business environment and better utilization of its geographic conditions. BFA will give full play to its own advantages to be a good bridge to help Hunan enhance communication and exchanges with other countries in the world, carry out pragmatic cooperation worldwide, and continuously strengthen Hunan's international influence, he added.
