Hunan Delegates to 19th CPC National Congress Hold First Plenary Meeting

On October 17, Hunan delegation to 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) held the first plenary meeting. CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Secretary and Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee Director Du Jiahao chaired the meeting and delivered a speech. CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Deputy Secretary and Hunan Governor Xu Dazhe, and CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Deputy Secretary Wu Lan conveyed the highlights of the Seventh Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee. Yang Zhengwu and other delegates also attended.

Secretary Du Jiahao was elected as the delegation head; deputy secretaries Xu Dazhe and Wu Lan as deputy heads; and, Wang Shaofeng as secretary-general. The meeting proposed a draft list of the delegate credentials committee, the presidium, and secretaries-general.

Du said all delegates should view the 19th CPC National Congress as an important opportunity to promote Hunan. He added, “We should be dedicated to deliver our duties, presenting Hunan’s reform and development achievements made in the past five years and Hunan cadres and people’s striving attempts and harmonious life.” “We should play an exemplary role in implementing the innovation-driven opening up development strategy and building a prosperous, happy, beautiful, new Hunan,” Du noted.
