These EMR automatic monitoring stations will continuously monitor the EMR environment around them 24 hours a day, including mobile communication base stations, high voltage power transmission facilities, radio and television transmitting stations, and radars. Power frequency electric fields, power frequency magnetic fields, radio frequency electric fields, intermediate wave magnetic fields, and radio magnetic fields are under monitoring.

The provincial ecology and environment authority has attached high attention to modernization of environment monitoring systems in the past five years. In addition to the 18 national automatic air monitoring stations for radiation environment in the province, Hunan has independently set up two water quality online monitoring stations for radiation environment and four EMR automatic monitoring stations. In the future, Hunan will continue to build a sound EMR environment quality monitoring network, pushing the modernization of radiation monitoring to a new height.
