During the New Year's Day and Spring Festival, Yueyang will launch more than 100 cultural activities. Residents and tourists could spend a happy and peaceful new year with a rich cultural ambience.

Before the New Year's Day, the Yueyang New Year Symphony Concert, Baling opera excerpts, and flower-drum opera shows will be staged at the Yueyang Cultural & Artistic Convention and Exhibition Center. The combination of elegant art and traditional opera will present a splendid art feast to the audience.

During the Spring Festival, a variety of cultural activities will be held, including:
--Giving Spring Festival couplets to residents;
--Bianhe Street Spring Festival Temple Fair; and,
--Cultural performances in rural areas.

Yueyang Library, Yueyang Art Museum, Yueyang Museum, and other cultural venues will open to the public during the Spring Festival.

Events to be held at Yueyang Art Museum:
--“Protecting the Yangtze River” Dongting Lake Sketch Works Exhibition;
--Children painting creation activity;
--Xiao Yunfei’s Calligraphy Works Exhibition; and,
--Huang Yun’s Chinese Painting Exhibition.

Events to be held at Yueyang Library:
--Picture book concert;
--Giving Spring Festival couplets and Chinese character “Fu (which means good fortune)” to residents; and,
--Children’s calligraphy and painting exhibition.
