Secretary Du Jiahao Joins Xiangtan Delegation Deliberations

On the afternoon of January 27, 2019, Du Jiahao, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary and Hunan Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee director, joined Xiangtan deputies at the Second Session of the 13th Hunan Provincial People's Congress to review government work, planning, and budget reports. Secretary Du emphasized the need to stay true to the original aspiration and keep the mission firmly in mind. He also said that Xiangtan City should adhere to the general principle of ‘making progress while ensuring stability’ according to the requirements of the Central Government and the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, improving Chairman Mao’s hometown development, and celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China with great achievements.
 
Delegates present delivered opinions and suggestions regarding the following:
·Enhancing integration of the CZT(Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan) city cluster;
·Accelerating in-depth development of civil-military integration;
·Solving the financing problems of private enterprises;
·Making greater efforts to protect the CZT city cluster green core;
·Improving rural infrastructure;
·Strengthening construction of the teaching body; and,
·Implementing rural revitalization strategy.
 
Secretary Du affirmed that progress has been made in various aspects in Xiangtan City last year. He pointed out that greater importance should be attached to the following aspects:
·Changing the potential power of multiple strategies into the driving force of high-quality development;
·Focusing on industries and the real economy;
·Ensuring the development advantages in intelligent equipment manufacturing, automobiles and components and parts, food and medicine, new-generation information technology, and new material, among others;
·Concentrating on the construction of ‘One Valley and Three Cities’ (China Valley with rapid development of the refrigeration industry; Three cities being: food industry city, textile and garment city, and petrochemical city), and creating industrial development advantages in Xiangtan to lay a foundation for high-quality development;
·Continuing to connect with CZT city cluster integration development;
·Forming a CZT city cluster ‘half-hour transportation circle’ and ‘half-hour economy circle’ with transportation integration as the core to achieving common development;
·Utilizing the innovation power, science and technology, and education, and changing the scientific and technological advantages into industrial competitiveness and developmental merits; and,
·Improving the business environment and constructing better new government-business relations to ensure a better sense of enterprise achievements.
 
Du Jiahao stressed that we must make limited funds count and continue to fight the "three tough battles" of preventing and defusing financial risk, targeted poverty alleviation, and pollution control. Our best efforts go to people's livelihood. We should always keep the safety and security of the people in mind and try our best to solve their worries. As the Spring Festival is approaching, leading cadres at all levels should visit the masses and ensure that they can enjoy a peaceful holiday.
