Republic of Congo President Denis Sassou Nguesso and his delegation attended the 4th Investing in Africa Forum held in Changsha between September 5 and September 7. Du Jiahao, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary and Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee director, and Xu Dazhe, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee deputy secretary and Hunan governor, met with the guests. 

 

Secretary Du on behalf of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Provincial People’s Government expressed his warm welcome to the guests. He said, “Hunan cherished the friendship between China and Congo. We have been responding to the national ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative, and will further enhance communication and cooperation with Congo in the areas of modern agriculture, mining development, machinery manufacturing, tourism, infrastructure construction, education, culture, and public health, for a win-win result”. 

 

During his visit, the 15th time to China, President Sassou Nguesso was deeply impressed by the remarkable changes taken place over the past half century in China, and Hunan. “China and Congo have developed unbreakable ties. The people of the Republic of Congo are affectionate to Chairman Mao Zedong's hometown and his countrymen. We hope the both sides to further boost the friendly-city ties between the Republic of Congo capital Brazzaville and Changsha. The 5th Investing in Africa Forum will be held in Brazzaville next year. We expect to take this opportunity to accelerate economic and trade cooperation, and cultural communication with Hunan, and welcome more Hunan enterprises to visit and invest in Congo,” said the President.
