The competition venue is located between a site of Huangshizhai Scenic Area and the Pipa Peak of Golden Whip Stream Scenic Area. With limited number of falls allowed, the competitor who completes the 1,000-meter course in the shortest time will win the gold medal. The gold medalist will receive a cash prize of 100,000 CNY and will be honored with the title of "Cultural Tourism Ambassador of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park."
The selection of participants for this competition follows a comprehensive approach based on the French Highline World Cup and the Swiss Highline World Championships. The competition brings together top professional slackline athletes from around the world, including 2025 Speed Highline World Cup (Belgium) champion Matheus Stoco Vidal, significantly enhancing the event's competitive level and international influence.
The event will also feature a high-altitude challenge for the public and a low-altitude balance experience, creating a multi-dimensional slackline spectacle. These initiatives aim to establish Huangshizhai as an international arena for slackline sports.
The Zhangjiajie (Huangshizhai) high-altitude slackline competition has been held for seven sessions since 2018, drawing slackline enthusiasts from around the world to test their skills at dizzying heights. The event has not only become a proprietary brand sports IP of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, but also serves as a showcase to promote the breathtaking landscapes of Zhangjiajie to the world.
As one of the first batch of national sports tourism demonstration bases, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park has become the main destination of international "sports + tourism." Many sports events were held in the park, including the Huangshizhai high-altitude slackline competition, the downhill cycling race, and the Bailong Elevator high-altitude rope swing challenge. These initiatives have effectively promoted the integrated development of sports and tourism.
