On June 11, the Industry and Information Technology Department of Hunan Province released the "First Batch of Major Industrial Projects of Hunan Province for 2026," which includes a total of 156 major projects, covering 13 cities and one autonomous prefecture in the province.
New energy and new materials projects have emerged as the "dominant force." The list includes over 40 projects involving lithium batteries, energy storage, hydrogen energy, advanced materials, and other fields, such as the Headquarters and Industrialization Base of Hunan Natrium Technology Energy Co., Limited, Hunan Dazhonghe Lithium Mineral Co., Ltd.'s energy storage battery project with an annual production capacity of 20Gwh, and Hunan Yongshan Lithium Co., Ltd.'s high-purity lithium carbonate project with an annual output of 22,000 tonnes. These projects showcase Hunan's determination to accelerate the construction of a complete "new energy" industrial chain.
High-end equipment and intelligent manufacturing projects are full of highlights. They include Zoomlion Digital Intelligent Park Project, Sinoboom International Intelligent Manufacturing Town Project, BAIC Foton's M6 medium-duty truck new model introduction project, and CRRC's electric drive system production capacity construction project. The projects cover multiple advantageous fields like construction machinery, rail transit, aerospace, and intelligent agricultural machinery, helping to propel "Hunan's manufacturing sector" toward "intelligent manufacturing."
The next-generation information technology and biomedical industries are accelerating their layout. Projects such as HKC Corporation Limited's Mini-LED project, Hunan Omnisun Information Material Co., Ltd.'s high-precision mask substrates project, Sunway Electronic Technology (Yiyang) Co., Ltd.'s multilayer ceramic capacitors project, Hunan (Zhuzhou) BeiDou Information Industrial Park, as well as pharmaceutical projects like the Hunan Warrant Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.'s high-end API base and Hunan Jiudian Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.'s intelligent production base, reflect Hunan's continuous efforts in emerging tracks such as electronic information, Beidou applications, and biomedicine.
The Industry and Information Technology Department of Hunan Province noted that it will give priority to recommending projects on the list for national special funding programs and provide key support from provincial funds. Meanwhile, a monthly progress tracking mechanism will be established to ensure that projects are implemented, put into operation, and yield results as soon as possible.
