Building a New Channel for Hunan Enterprises to Go Global
On June 3, the 2026 Bangkok Building Materials, Furniture & Hotel Supplies Expo opened at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. This marks the first time the expo has hosted an overseas exhibition as the organizer. The expo has been included in Hunan Province's "2026 'Hunan Trade Global' Key Overseas Exhibition Directory."
After two decades of deep cultivation in the industry, the expo has become a benchmark event in the building materials and home furnishing sector in the central part of China. This year's Thailand exhibition covers an exhibition area of nearly 10,000 square meters, featuring four themed areas for building and decoration materials, furniture, hotel supplies, and premium Hunan products. It has attracted around 200 enterprises, over a thousand types of products, and more than 10,000 professional buyers.
At the opening ceremony, Xiao Guogang, chairperson of the Thailand-ASEAN Economic and Trade Promotion Association, noted that Thailand's tourism industry is currently experiencing a strong recovery, with over 27,000 hotel rooms nationwide urgently needing renovation and upgrades. The country's annual dependence on imported building materials is as high as 60%. As a major manufacturing province in China, Hunan has significant advantages, and the industries of the two regions are highly complementary, offering broad prospects for cooperation.
This expo innovatively establishes a long-term mechanism of "post-exhibition implementation." After the expo concludes, all exhibited products will be uniformly relocated to the "Zhidian International Exhibition and Trade Center" in Pathum Thani Province. It will provide year-round regular display and decoration design services, creating a "bridgehead" for Hunan products entering Thailand.
Yang Aiyun, chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Hunan Sub-council, said that the expo pioneers a four-in-one model of "promoting trade through exhibition, integrating exhibition and trade, post-exhibition implementation, and going global collectively." It provides enterprises with full-chain support, including booth subsidies, commercial services, and risk protection, enabling Hunan enterprises to go global with low costs, low risks, and high efficiency.
