Recently, the production workshop of the Huaihua Hyliess New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was bustling with activity, with workers busy preparing a batch of household energy storage equipment for shipment to Myanmar. In the first quarter of this year, leveraging the convenient logistics channels of the Huaihua International Land Port, the company saw a significant increase in overseas orders, with products in high demand.
This shipment vividly reflects the "strong start" achieved by the Huaihua International Land Port in the first quarter of this year. According to statistics, during the January-March period, the port handled a total of 362 trains, carrying 18,142 containers, nearly 5,000 more than that in the same period last year. The cargo value reached approximately 2.5 billion CNY, much higher than the 1.873 billion CNY from last year at this time, with both the number of freight train trips and cargo throughput maintaining a significant growth momentum.
The Huaihua International Land Port handles 70% of the cargo transshipment tasks from the New Western Land-Sea Corridor heading south to ASEAN, achieving efficient transport that ensures "reaching the sea and rivers within 30 hours and arriving directly in ASEAN countries within 3 days." Relying on the port's convenient logistics and transport channels, local enterprises have significantly accelerated their pace of going global. In addition to the new energy equipment, the Mayang Senjia Luggage Co., Ltd. recorded an export value of 30 million CNY in the first quarter, more than double that of the same period last year. The company manager noted that, thanks to the port's efficient customs clearance and a series of preferential policies benefiting enterprises, transportation costs have been reduced by 15%, notably enhancing logistics efficiency and competitiveness.
Driven by the radiating effects of the land port, the port industry is continuously growing. Currently, the luggage and leather goods industrial chain in Huaihua has gathered 202 enterprises, achieving a total output value of 6.047 billion CNY, with products exported to over 100 countries and regions worldwide. The Huaihua Sannong Industrial Park of the China Co-op Group has become operational, leveraging the cooperative system's transport network and the port's platform advantages to help upgrade Huaihua's agricultural industry and promote more "Huaihua products" going global.
Cross-border e-commerce also performed impressively. The Huaihua International Land Port (Cross-Border) E-Commerce Industrial Park recorded an e-commerce transaction volume of 152 million CNY in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 10%, successfully expanding Huaihua's specialty products such as Polygonatum and Poria to European, American, and African markets.
Currently, the Huaihua International Land Port has opened 216 international and domestic routes, forming seven major international logistics corridors that cover 238 ports and stations in 69 countries and regions globally, providing solid support for building an inland hub of reform and opening-up.
