The Huaihua Sannong Industrial Park of China Co-op Group officially opened on May 1.

As one of the three major industrial parks of Huaihua International Land Port, it will inject strong momentum into the expansion of high-quality agricultural products in Wuling mountainous areas to the domestic and ASEAN markets.

The industrial park covers an area of 839 mu (approximately 55.9 hectares), with a total investment of 2.2 billion CNY. It plans to consist of eight major centers, namely, an agricultural product trading center, an agricultural material trading center, an agricultural machinery and tools trading center, an e-commerce center, a warehousing and logistics center, an agricultural material cloud warehouse center, a cold chain center, and a green agricultural product processing center. Based on these centers, it will integrate multiple functions including exhibition and marketing, online and offline trading, warehousing and processing, logistics and distribution, and foreign trade services, serving as a full-chain one-stop agricultural service platform.

Huaihua boasts abundant products, especially rich agricultural resources. However, it has long faced several challenges, such as insufficient cold chain capacity, fragmented distribution, disconnection between production and sales, and high delivery costs. Leveraging the park's centralized purchasing and distribution functions, as well as the advantages of the Huaihua International Land Port in rail-sea intermodal transport service, the industrial park will directly connect to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and extend to the ASEAN market. It will facilitate "Huaihua local products" going global from the mountains, while bringing in high-quality international agricultural products and inputs into China, thus achieving a two-way circulation and mutual benefit.

Relying on Huaihua's unique geographical advantages and the people's livelihood needs, the industrial park will be developed into a key regional livelihood supply guarantee base and an agricultural product distribution hub. In normal times, it will serve industry development and help enhance quality and efficiency, and in times of crisis, it is expected to provide emergency support and safeguard people's livelihoods. It aims to realize "serving both routine and emergency needs, ensuring tangible benefits for farmers and the general public."
