On behalf of Hunan Province, Shen Xiaoming extended a warm welcome to the young professionals from the medical communities of China and the United States, as well as to all those dedicated to promoting medical exchanges between the two countries. Secretary Shen noted that the healthcare system in any country is designed to serve the people, and as the central figures of the system, medical staff have always regarded saving lives as their noble mission. Doctors may have nationalities, but medicine knowns no borders. The practice of the past few decades have proven that international medical cooperation is the fundamental path to conquering human diseases and safeguarding human health. The secretary expressed his hope that through international medical exchanges and cooperation, everyone would learn from one another, and work together to tackle diseases that threaten human health. Hunan is willing to open its doors to the global medical community and welcomes young medical professionals to Hunan to deepen cooperation and exchange.

At the opening ceremony, Shen Xin, vice president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; Li Jiancheng, president of Central South University; and a representative of young American doctors, delivered speeches. During the dialogue session, Mark Humayun, a member of both the US National Academy of Medicine (NAM) and the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and director of the Ginsburg Institute for Biomedical Therapeutics at the University of Southern California, made a keynote speech. Doctors, medical students, and representatives from the health sector in both China and the United States engaged in in-depth exchanges on cutting-edge medical development, clinical practice, and talent cultivation.

These activities provided a high-level platform for academic exchange among young medical professionals from both countries, further deepening people-to-people cooperation in the field of health and medicine.
