Imports and exports by Hunan's private enterprises achieved 73.24 billion CNY in the first two months of 2026, marking a year-on-year growth of 21.8% and accounting for 79.9% of the province's foreign trade. Among the figures, exports increased by 11.8% to 44.8 billion CNY, and imports rose 41.7% to 28.44 billion CNY, according to the Changsha Customs Authority.
Electromechanical products account for the largest share of exports, demonstrating a quality- and innovation-oriented momentum. During the first two months, exports of electromechanical products by Hunan's private enterprises reached 26.46 billion CNY, growing 30.2% year on year and accounting for approximately 60% of the provincial total by private enterprises during the same period. Meanwhile, exports of the "new three" products—electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic products—reached 3.08 billion CNY, surging 73.9% year on year. Among them, electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic products saw growth rates of 135.5%, 32.4%, and 27.3%, respectively. All these indicated a significant improvement in the foreign trade quality and efficiency of private enterprises in Hunan, highlighting notable achievements in industrial transformation and upgrading.
During the January-February period, the trade volume of Hunan's private businesses with Hong Kong SAR hit 9.44 billion CNY, rising 67.3%; that with the U.S.A reached 4.05 billion CNY; and, with Brazil soared 82.4% to 3.75 billion CNY. Additionally, exports to Indonesia and Malaysia surged 35.1% and 82.1%, respectively.
During the two months, Changsha's private businesses achieved a total import and export value of 39.07 billion CNY, increasing by 12% and taking up more than half of that by the province's private enterprises. The foreign trade growth rates of the private enterprises in Chenzhou, Xiangtan, Loudi, Yiyang, and Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture were 80.9%, 83%, 53.7%, 116.2%, and 163.1%, respectively.
